We will be coming to Singapore next month . Our plane will touch down around 8am and will have to be back at the airport by 4 pm on the same day. What can we do? We want to see the merlion and take a few photos of the city. We want to have a look at some shops as well.
Suggestions:
Take a taxi to Clarke Quay liang court. Walk around the clarke quay area for some photo shoots. Take the river boat ride along singapore river to boat quay and the fullerton. Along the river , you will see waterfront shop houses , historic bridges , esplanade, the merlion and more.
After the river cruise , around elevenish , take taxi to suntec city for some shopping. There is also open top buses city trolley which leaves from the suntec itself. Have lunch at the fountain of wealth food court or go for a takeaway at marina square shopping mall which is linked to the suntec city.
To go back to the airport , take taxi from the marina mandarin hotel or out side carl junior instead of the suntec city area. The taxi waiting time outside suntec city especially infront of the carrefour and lunch hour is normally quite long.
Avoid taking taxi from the oriental hotel located behind marina mandarin hotel.
The route to the airport from there is longer.
