When you get into the city , your next plan is how do you go around and explore the city a little bit .
Perhaps you decide to take a taxi to drive the three of you around singapore city.
Or you can join a tour . Or walk around by yourselves. Or you can get on one of the open top buses. One loop around the city without stopping is forty five minutes. Great.
But where to get the open top bus from. You look at the map again. No information.
Then you go around in the city looking for the information counter . But with the morning still early , not only the information counters but even the shops are still not open yet. Most shops open around ten am till ten pm at night.
You look at your watch , that is another three hours...
Here is a quick suggestion on how you can spend your transit in singapore.
From the changi airport you can take either the taxi or the mrt to get to the city.
Mrt is singapore subway train. From the changi airport, if you are at terminal one , go to terminal two to take the mrt. Use the rail train which links the airport terminals. Once you get to the train station , go to the ticket machine. Some part of the world , you get tickets from the station master. In singapore , the human touch has been replaced with a machine.
The ticket machine works only slightly different from a coke vending machine. With the coke vending machine, you put your coin first then you get your drink.
With the ticket machine is the other way round. Follow the instruction on the touch screen first select destination then you put your coins in . Then you collect your ticket. Go through the gate and take your train.
The journey to the city center is roughly forty five minutes to one hour.
Stop at city hall mrt. From there go through the city link mall. It is an underground shopping mall. This will lead you to Singapore largest convention centre, suntec city. Go to the main lobby. From there take the open top bus.
The difference between taking a limo taxi and the mrt? It could be the sightseeing on the mrt.
