To get to where ever you want to go around the city , try this:
By bus - At bus stops around singapore city you will find the bus guide directories. The directories tell you destination bus numbers and how much bus fare you have to pay.
Before boarding the bus, have a few of dollars in coins ready. Or you can purchase an ezlink card which has stored bus fare credits .
Maximum end to end fair depending on destionation is usually two to three dollars . Coin denominations are 5, 10, 20, 50
When you board the bus put your coins in the payment box next to the bus driver. Collect your ticket and retain it through out your journey.
By subway train , mrt - Go to the ticket machine. Select to buy ticket on the touch screen. Choose destination . Put coins in as instructed by the touch screen . Collect ticket. Done. Easy?
Stored fare travel cards are also available. You can top it up as and when necessary. You can use the same card on both bus and mrt.
Don't worry about getting lost.The major train lines go in circle. You will always get back to where you start.
