In the evening , normally , there is a long taxi queue in front of marriott hotel. If eventually you do get one, you still have to queue to exit the marriott hotel compound to the main road.
In addition, you still have to exit to the right lane outside marriott hotel to make a u turn towards the expressway to the night safari.
If the traffic is heavy, then you will have to go through the toll area and make one big turn to the expressway which leads to the night safari.
If you find the traffic outside marriot hotel is on the heavy side here is an alternative: across from the marriott hotel , next to Isetan shopping mall is the royal plaza hotel on scotts road. Take the overhead bridge to get there . Or go through the underground subway.
From the royal plaza hotel side take a taxi . If you do this way then your taxi do not have to travel one big circle to exit the the marriott hotel area. You also do not have to make a congested u turn outside border bookstore which is just opposite the marriott hotel to get to the PIE expressway to the safari.
From the royal plaza hotel side, it is a straight route to the PIE expressway. From the PIE expressway you are just fifteen to twenty minutes away before turning left to mandai road. That is where the night safari is.
To avoid the heavy traffic outside the marriott hotel altogether leave early . Around 5pm. You will get to the safari in plenty of time. You also get to snap some photos of the tropical rain forest as the sun goes down.
An easy way is to take the mrt from the orchard station to the night safari The orchard mrt or train station is just a few minutes walk from the marriott hotel.
An underground subway links the orchard mrt and the marriott hotel. From the orchard mrt station take the red line to ang mo kio station. Then transfer to bus 138 to the night safari. Leave around five pm from the marriott hotel.
After the night safari take taxi to go back to the marriott hotel.
