Three of us and it is our first time. We will be staying at the copthorne orchid inn Singapore. No transfer from airport to hotel prearranged. How do we get to hotel? Best by mrt or taxi?

Suggestions:
If you take the mrt you will need to change at tanah merah mrt station. The second mrt interchange is at the city hall mrt.
Then you will have to take the red link to woodland and get off at the orchard mrt station. There after you need to walk towards the scott road exit to take a taxi to your hotel.
Combining mrt and taxi , your journey is longer .
A better way is to take a taxi directly to your hotel. There are singapore copthorne waterfront hotel, singapore copthorne king hotel and singapore copthorne orchid inn hotel. Be specific when you give instruction to the airport taxi driver.
Take the PIE and exit at stevens road. From there it is quicker to your hotel. Minus the gridlock , minus the toll gantry charges. Traffic is lighter since motorists are going outward from the city area.
*Not recommended alternative route is through the ECP expressway . To get to your hotel through this route , you can either go through rochor road or through stamford road.
Traffic from rochor road through to bukit timah road to your hotel is normally bumper to bumper during rush hour.
