The train station is just a five minutes walk from the carlton hotel. Opposite the carlton hotel is chijmes . It's a popular dining and entertainment site. Cross the street to chijmes . Walk along chijmes towards the raffles hotel. Opposite the raffles hotel is the raffles city shopping mall.
Go through raffles city shopping mall . A couple of shops after the FILA sport shop is the starbuck coffee. Next to it is the mrt entrance. Take the escalator down to the the ticket machine. Take the green line and change at outram mrt to harbour front. The red line goes to orchard and to the north part of Singapore.
Another option is to take the mrt from the dhauby ghout mrt instead. Take the purple line. And you don't have to change train. Turn right from the carlton entrance and walk straight passed the rendezvous hotel. The train station is just after the HSBC bank.

When you reach the harbour front station, at the station exit, look up. You will see the cable cars. They run between the mount faber and sentosa island. Harbour front is the last station before you reach sentosa cable car station.
